We're going to do it the same way we did before:

Work for 639-275...  We're going to split the 6 into a 5 and a 1...  Since 6=5+1

Now, remember, that's really 600 = 500 + 100!

Here's the key to this whole trick:

A 1 in the hundreds stripe is 100...
and that's the same as 10 tens!

< It's just like swapping a $100 bill for ten $10 bills! >

10 and the 3 in the tens stripe:
